Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Apollo 2000 Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it. We have written it in plain UK English so you can clearly understand what is stored on your device and how you stay in control.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies such as localStorage work in much the same way: they let a website remember small pieces of information in your browser between visits.
Cookies can be “session” cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them. They can be set by the site you are visiting (“first-party”) or by another organisation whose content is embedded on the page (“third-party”).
How we use cookies
We want to be straightforward with you: this is a static, informational website for our car body shop, and we set no tracking or advertising cookies by default. We do not build profiles of visitors, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not sell any data.
The only thing we store is your own cookie choice. When you select “Accept all” or “Reject” in the banner at the bottom of the page, we save that decision in your browser using a localStorage entry named apollo-cookie-consent. This is an essential, functional item that simply records your preference so we do not show you the banner again on every visit. It stays on your device, is never sent to an advertising server, and contains nothing that identifies you personally.
Stored locally
Your choice lives in apollo-cookie-consent in your own browser.
No tracking
No advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
You decide
Analytics, if ever added, load only after you accept them.
Types of cookies we use
To help you recognise what each category does, here is a clear breakdown. Strictly necessary items are always active because the site relies on them; everything else is optional and off until you say otherwise.
Strictly necessary
These keep the website working and remember the choice you make in the cookie banner. They are stored in your browser only and are set whether or not you consent, because the site cannot function without them. We do not use them to track you.
Analytics
Were we to add analytics in the future, these would help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. They are switched off by default and would only ever load after you select "Accept all". At present we run no analytics cookies at all.
Managing cookies
You are in control at all times. Because we only store your consent choice, the simplest way to change it is to clear your browser data for this site — that removes the apollo-cookie-consent entry and the banner will appear again on your next visit, letting you make a fresh choice. In this way you can withdraw your consent just as easily as you gave it.
You can also block or delete cookies and similar storage directly in your browser settings. The exact steps differ slightly between browsers, but you will usually find the controls under privacy or security:
- Google Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
- Apple Safari — Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
Please note that strictly necessary items keep the site working as intended. If you clear or block all storage, the cookie banner may reappear each time you visit because we can no longer remember your earlier choice.
Third-party services
Some pages may include content provided by other organisations, and those organisations can set their own cookies. The main example is the embedded Google Map on our Contact page. When that map loads, Google may place cookies on your device under its own terms, which we do not control.
We keep third-party content to the minimum needed to be useful — for instance, to help you find our workshop in Chadwell Heath. If you would like to know how Google handles data, please refer to Google’s own cookie policy. Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages open those platforms in a new tab, where their respective cookie and privacy policies apply.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change how the site works or if the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically so you stay informed about how we use cookies.
